Someone reached out

I got an odd “Hello 👋” message from a “friend”. I say friend because the ‘last’ (*Dec 2nd, 2021) message I receive from this person was:

I hope you have a friend to call when Angel dies. […] Your 18 year old cat has a couple lethargic days and you call me crying, after we hadn’t talked for a good moment, saying “you have nobody else to call” and I came to yours and hers comfort immediately.. […] You are the worst person I think I have ever known [name]. Sincerely. I actually almost feel sorry for you but you do it to yourself.

Then less then 24 hours after learning that my cat Angel did in fact recently die, after their parent (wrongly) shared the information with them; they choose to “reach out” to me.

Out of kindness and a level of (past) love for this person I chose to ‘echo’ back their text message with a “Hello 👋” back. This was done 15 minutes after receiving their message. Since then (3 days late). I additional contact has happened.
